News » Shane Homes volunteers their time to paint
Early May saw the completion of the second building at Heritage Park Historical Village to be painted by the staff at Shane Homes. Between bouts of rain intermixed with sunshine, over 30 Shane Homes’ staff members volunteered over the two day painting spree. Ron Heggs, Director of Special Projects for Shane Homes and the main organizer for this project says, “The Enterprise Livery Stable will be the second building we’ve repainted at the Park, with the first being The Trader’s Bank in May 2008. As with the bank, our goal in painting the stable was to keep the building looking authentic. We worked with the team at Heritage Park to make sure we kept the look of the era the building was from by using the paint and a colour that was used during this period of time.” Shane Wenzel, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing adds “It is very rewarding to be able to help Heritage Park, both from a corporate point of view and personally for our staff involved in the project. Lots of families from Calgary and surrounding areas pass through the gates at Heritage Park every year and it’s nice to be able to give back to the community in this way.” This project was also made possible with generous donations from Second Look Painting and General Paint.
