Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any schools in Legacy?
Yes! All Saints Catholic High School is open and is a great school for sports. A Catholic K-9 is coming, and construction should begin in the fall of 2023. Additionally, two public schools (elementary and junior high) are also planned. There is also a wide choice of schools to choose from that are within 20 minutes of Legacy.
Is it easy to get in and out of the Legacy?
In all of Legacy, there is only one set of lights; traffic circles make it smooth, safe and efficient to drive through the whole community.
Does Legacy have public transit?
Yes! Legacy has a bus system that transports users to and from the Somerset/Bridlewood LRT via a short bus ride.
Does the pricing include a garage?
Double garages are optional with our laned and paired homes but can be added with every lot we have.
What is a zero-lot line?
Instead of being in the middle of a property with setbacks on either side, a “zero-lot line” home is aligned on the edge of the property boundary, meaning zero space is left between your home and your lot line. Zero-lot lines are a great, more affordable option for losing less land to setbacks and getting more control over the footprint of your home. If you need additional indoor living space, you can allocate more of your property toward a floor plan that suits your needs better.
What shops and services are in the area?
Legacy has four different commercial areas, Township Shopping Centre, Legacy Corner, Legacy Village, and Legacy Grove. Township Shopping Centre is located in the heart of Legacy and features stores, services and restaurants such as Winners, Wine & Beyond, Starbucks, PetSmart, Dollarama, The Great Canadian Brewhouse, Spas, Banking and more. The other commercial areas feature stores such as Tim Hortons, Legacy Veterinary Clinic, Domino’s Pizza, Legacy Montessori Academy and so much more. Plus, Legacy puts you within 3 Costco locations in about 20 minutes.
Are there parks and pathways in Legacy?
Legacy has plenty to offer for lifestyle and active families! When complete, Legacy will feature 3 ponds, 10 parks, 4 soccer fields, 3 commercial sites and over 300 acres of protected environmental reserve with 15km of interconnected walking trails, amphitheatres and leisure and recreation space along a beautiful escarpment.
Is there a Homeowners Association? And if so, what does it cost?
The Legacy Residents Association is a non-profit organization created for the homeowners of Legacy, intending to augment the lifestyle in Legacy. The goal is to create a home base for living rather than simply owning a home by creating an attractive atmosphere and increasing community interaction.The Legacy Residents Association has an annual fee of $60.00. Notably, Legacy has one of Calgary’s most impressive Christmas Light Displays, due in part to the Residents Association.
How much longer are you building in Legacy?
Legacy, Calgary, real estate is around 70% complete, with 12 more phases left to develop. As Legacy continues to grow, there will be opportunities available to build homes in ongoing and future phases.
What if I'm working with my own Legacy real estate agents?
If you’re working with your own real estate professionals, that’s okay; we have a realtor participation program. When you first visit one of our showhomes, your realtor must register you in person with our Shane Homes Area Manager and complete the registration agreement.
